Peace practice - January

This past Friday was my first Peace Practice yoga class. I have done quite a few classes for charity, but for many years I have wanted to dedicate at least one class a month where monies would go to help someone else.
Yoga has given me so much,  I love when can give back in other ways.

I had a great evening and left feeling very quiet and peaceful. I hope those that came felt the same way!

Bringing serenity to body, breath and mind is a great way to spread peace to those around us and to others.

In "Light on the Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali" , B.K.S. Iyengar writes about sutra II.35.  This sutra describes the effects of ahimsa, or nonviolence.

It states that when non-violence in speech, thought an action is established, one's aggressive nature is relinquished and others abandon hostility in one's presence.

By practicing mindfulness in each moment we can lesson our violent actions, speech and thoughts.

This month the donation will go to help a young girl in Guatemala so she can attend school.  I am so happy this can happen for her.

Much thanks to all who attended and to Tammy Fulton of Yoga Sublime for sharing this space for this practice.

Next Peace Practice is February 5th!

Namaste.
